Security forces carried out a successful clearance operation in the Lakray area of North Waziristan on Wednesday, recovering the bodies of eight Khawarij militants and securing the locality after intelligence-based surveillance.
Gulono had earlier been a hideout of Khawarij, where several militants were eliminated during targeted actions. The clearance operation was aimed at securing the area and neutralizing any remaining threats. During the operation, eight bodies of Khawarij were recovered while search and surveillance activities are still continuing to ensure lasting peace in the region.
The security forces reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating the menace of Khawarij and protecting local communities. Residents of the area also expressed relief over the successful operation, appreciating the efforts of the armed forces in restoring security.
