Security forces and police have successfully completed an operation against Khawarij attacking the FC Headquarters (HQ) in Bannu. Six terrorists, including a suicide bomber, were killed, while 16 security personnel and 3 civilians were injured during the operation.
The attack took place early this morning, causing panic in the area as security forces responded immediately and conducted continuous clearance operations. According to police, five militants had infiltrated the FC HQ, leading to an intense exchange of fire.
The sounds of gunfire and explosions deeply affected nearby residents, shattering windows and doors, and leaving people terrified. All routes leading to the FC Lines were blocked to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Bannu DPO Saleem Kalachi personally led the operation on-site with a large contingent of police, assisted by additional personnel from the Quick Response Unit.
Security sources confirmed that the area has now been completely cleared.
IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stated that the major attack on the FC HQ in Bannu was successfully foiled. He confirmed that the terrorists’ significant plot was thwarted in time, preventing potential large-scale casualties.
