In a joint operation by the Police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) early this morning, the notorious terrorist commander Ben Yameen, also known as Ibrahim Lalai, was killed in Dera Ismail Khan district. Lalai, a key figure in the banned outfit Fitna al-Khawarij, was responsible for planning and executing several deadly attacks on both civilians and law enforcement officers in the region.
The operation, which took place in the outskirts of Dera Ismail Khan, saw a heavy exchange of fire. Just hours earlier, security forces had thwarted a major terrorist plot targeting innocent civilians and security personnel in Dera Ismail Khan. In that operation, four militants were apprehended, and a large cache of weapons, including IEDs, grenades, and firearms, was recovered.
