Hand Grenade Attack on Police Post in Swabi Leaves Two Officers Injured

A hand grenade attack on a police post in Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa left two police personnel injured. According to police sources, the attack took place in the Bam Khel area of Swabi, where Khawarij on a motorcycle threw a grenade at the police post.

Among the injured were a police constable and a private cook working at the post. The injured officers were immediately transferred to the hospital for treatment. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Swabi confirmed that the private cook, employed at the police post, was also among the wounded.

Following the attack, the area was cordoned off, and a search operation was launched to apprehend the perpetrators. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack as of yet.

This attack is part of a broader wave of violence targeting law enforcement in the region. Over the past 24 hours, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have faced over a dozen attacks across various districts, resulting in the martyrdom of five police officers and the injury of at least nine others, including the two from the Swabi grenade attack.

IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hamid, while addressing the recent surge in attacks, confirmed that out of 13 separate attacks carried out yesterday, nine were successfully thwarted by police forces.
