Khawarij’s IED Plot Foiled in Bannu, Timely Action by Police Averts Major Attack

A major terror bid was foiled in the Nurar area of Bannu as Khawarij operatives attempted to plant an improvised explosive device (IED) along a roadside. Prompt and coordinated action by police and security forces thwarted the plan before it could cause any harm.

According to official sources, law enforcement received credible intelligence about the presence of Khawarij in the area, following which a swift operation was launched and the vicinity was secured. During the operation, the Khawarij were engaged and suffered losses, effectively neutralizing their nefarious designs.

District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu, Salim Abbas Kallachi, said the force remains fully alert and combat-ready to tackle any challenge. “Bannu Police are deploying all available resources to safeguard the lives and property of the people. We will not allow any element to disturb peace in the region,” he stated.

Officials noted that enhanced surveillance, rapid response protocols, and inter-agency coordination are being reinforced across the district to counter the persistent threat posed by the Khawarij. Security forces remain determined to eliminate all subversive networks operating in the area.
