Pakistan, China Reaffirm Counterterrorism Cooperation and Strategic Trust During Field Marshal Asim Munir’s Visit to Beijing

Field Marshal General Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the security of Chinese citizens and enterprises operating within the country, emphasizing that Pakistan’s armed forces remain resolute in protecting bilateral interests and promoting regional peace and prosperity.

During a high-level meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, Field Marshal Munir underlined the need to further strengthen counterterrorism cooperation between the two countries as part of their shared vision for stability and development in the region.

He lauded China’s longstanding role and support in Pakistan’s socio-economic progress and expressed appreciation for Beijing’s consistent commitment to Pakistan’s development journey. Foreign Minister Wang Yi, while extending warm congratulations on General Munir’s elevation to the rank of Field Marshal, reiterated China’s firm support for Pakistan’s efforts against all forms of terrorism. He expressed full confidence in the Pakistan Army’s role in safeguarding Chinese personnel, institutions, and strategic projects across the country.

Describing the Pakistan Army as a pillar of national sovereignty and a cornerstone of the Pakistan-China friendship, the Chinese foreign minister emphasized that Pakistan has always remained a diplomatic priority for China. He also reaffirmed Beijing’s trust in the critical role of security forces in advancing the bilateral strategic partnership.

Both sides expressed their resolve to deepen strategic consensus reached by the leadership of the two countries and to enhance cooperation across all sectors, particularly in regional security and stability. They agreed to work closely together in implementing shared objectives for lasting peace in the region.

The meeting also included a detailed exchange of views on evolving regional and global developments. Both nations committed to maintaining close coordination on matters of mutual interest and enhancing their collaboration across strategic and security domains.
