The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), operating under the guise of nationalism, has intensified its violent campaign in Balochistan, severely disrupting civilian life and halting development across the province.
In the first half of 2025 alone, the militant group has claimed responsibility for over 280 attacks, targeting infrastructure, public transport, and development projects. Recent months have seen temporary takeovers of towns including Surab, Zehri, Mangochar, and Kalat, with coordinated strikes that left key highways blocked and entire communities in fear.
Despite portraying itself as a “liberation force,” the BLA’s actions have deepened the province’s isolation. Schools remain closed, healthcare access is limited, and economic activity has plummeted. Security officials say the BLA is increasingly relying on extortion, hijackings, and sabotage, particularly through its so-called Fateh Squad and Majeed Brigade.
Authorities argue that the BLA’s actions amount to economic and social warfare against the very people it claims to represent, as ordinary Baloch citizens bear the brunt of disrupted livelihoods and lost opportunities.
“Instead of fighting for rights, the BLA has become a tool of chaos, silencing voices of peace and progress,” a senior security official said.
Government sources stress that peaceful development—not violence—is the true path forward for Balochistan.
