Acting on intelligence, security forces conducted a targeted raid in the Mir Samad area in sub-division Peshawar, following reports of khawarij presence inside a local hujra.
According to early reports, as the security team approached the location, armed khawarij opened fire, leading to a brief but intense exchange of gunfire. During the crossfire, one khariji, identified as a member of the Fitna al-Khawarij, was neutralized on the spot.
Security personnel recovered the deceased khariji’s body along with a sub-machine gun (SMG), live ammunition, and other tactical equipment from the site. The successful operation marks another blow to the extremist network attempting to destabilise the region.
The area has been secured, and a follow-up investigation is underway. More details are expected as authorities continue to gather information.
