The United Kingdom has issued a strong condemnation of the cowardly terrorist attack targeting a school van in Khuzdar, Balochistan, terming it a horrific assault on innocent lives. The attack claimed the lives of three children and two adults, while 53 others — including 39 children — sustained injuries. At least eight of the injured remain in critical condition.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express the UK’s outrage and sorrow over the tragedy. “The UK strongly condemns the cowardly terrorist attack on a van carrying schoolchildren in Khuzdar,” she wrote. “We are heartbroken and deeply saddened by the killing of children and the deliberate targeting of the most vulnerable. Our deepest sympathies are with the bereaved families and all those affected.”
She further reiterated the UK’s unwavering opposition to terrorism in all its forms, calling the attack a violation of the most basic principles of humanity.
The tragic incident in Khuzdar has sparked grief and outrage across Pakistan and beyond, drawing urgent calls for accountability, justice, and stronger protections for children in conflict-prone areas. The international community, including the UK, continues to stand with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and in support of peace and security for all its citizens.
