Two Policemen Martyred and One Injured in Khwarij Attack on Bannu Police Post

Two police personnel were martyred and another injured when Khwarij militants carried out a coordinated and deadly attack on the New Sabzi Mandi police checkpost, causing extensive damage and plunging the area into chaos.

According to official sources, the attackers used explosives to demolish the main gate of the checkpost, gaining forced entry into the premises. A fierce exchange of fire ensued as the militants stormed the facility, targeting law enforcement personnel stationed inside.

The powerful blast brought down a high-voltage electricity transformer, resulting in a complete power outage across the New Sabzi Mandi locality. The checkpost itself suffered severe structural damage during the attack.

The intensity of the gunfire also damaged several nearby shops and commercial units, sparking panic among local traders and residents.

The injured policeman was shifted to hospital, while security forces launched a search and clearance operation in the vicinity. The area has been cordoned off, and efforts are underway to track down the perpetrators.

Officials condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly act by the Khwarij, and reaffirmed their resolve to eliminate all threats to peace and security in the region.
