Pakistan’s armed forces conducted large-scale counteroperations targeting Taliban positions across the Pak-Afghan frontier in response to cross-border aggression, security sources said.

Security sources claimed that 75 militant check posts were destroyed and 19 were captured during precision response operations along border sectors.

Operations reportedly targeted Taliban’s military installations across multiple locations inside Afghanistan, including Laghman, Nangarhar, Kabul, Paktia, Khost and Paktika regions.

Weapons depots, logistics bases, command facilities and militant hideouts were among the sites destroyed. Sources said the Khachar Qala area in Laghman was targeted, resulting in destruction of ABF battalion headquarters and associated infrastructure.

A brigade headquarters in Nangarhar was also reported destroyed during the operation.

Security sources further stated that more than 115 tanks, artillery units and armored personnel carriers were destroyed during the response.

Director General ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said locations associated with militant facilitation networks in Kabul, Paktia and Khost were selected for targeted action.

Pakistani forces also repelled 53 attempted attacks from hostile positions.

Anti-drone defence systems intercepted attempted aerial incursions in areas including Sibi, Abbottabad and Nowshera.

Sources said Taliban positions were abandoned under operational pressure, with militants withdrawing from several posts.

Security sources added that in areas where hostile flags were lowered, the national flag of Pakistan was raised symbolically after clearance operations. Officials said hostile flags were lowered with respect where religious inscriptions were reportedly present.

Authorities reiterated that Pakistan will not tolerate militant sanctuaries or facilitation networks being used for attacks inside the country.
