Security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa conducted 78 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) during June 2025, killing 44 khawarij and seizing large quantities of weapons and explosives, according to official sources.
South Waziristan recorded the highest number of terrorist casualties, with 23 khawarij killed. Other districts included North Waziristan (6), Bannu (4), Lakki Marwat (3), Dera Ismail Khan (3), Hangu (2), Kurram (2), and Kohat (1).
Officials said that the recovered arms and explosives indicate plans for large-scale terrorist attacks, which were likely foiled through these operations. These khawarij were reportedly affiliated with various banned outfits and were involved in planning or executing acts of terrorism.
Security forces have reiterated their commitment to continuing counter-terrorism efforts until stability and peace are fully restored across the region.
