In the aftermath of a deadly attack on a passenger vehicle in Lower Kurram, security forces conducted large-scale search operations, arrested 23 suspected terrorists and facilitators and recovered a significant cache of weapons.
Regional Police Officer Kohat, Abbas Majeed Marwat, told media that the attack occurred in Ahmad Khan Kaley, resulting in the death of six passengers. Following the incident, extensive search operations were launched across Lower Kurram, including areas like Mahsura and Ahmad Khan Kaley, as well as surrounding mountainous regions.
The Grand Operation is being led by RPO Kohat and DPO Kurram, with Commissioner Kohat Region, Muttasimbillah Shah, personally visiting the area to coordinate with local elders. Security personnel are conducting door-to-door searches and targeting suspected terrorist hideouts in the hills.
RPO Abbas Majeed Marwat emphasized that the perpetrators will not be allowed to escape, stating, “No one will be allowed to disrupt peace in the region.” The search operation is still ongoing.
