Security forces carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan’s Datta Khel area, eliminating 18 khawarij of Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, one of the factions of the banned terrorist organisation officially designated by the state as Fitna al-Khawarij.
According to security sources, the operation was launched after actionable intelligence confirmed the presence of the group’s full formation at a covert hideout. The forces struck with precision, destroying the site and killing all khawarij present, including key commanders.
The slain khawarij were reportedly involved in multiple deadly attacks targeting security forces and civilians in the region. Their elimination marks a significant blow to the group’s operational capabilities.
Following the operation, a security high alert was imposed in the area, and a clearance operation is currently underway to secure the surroundings and eliminate any remaining threats.
Officials praised the swift and decisive action as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle foreign-backed terrorist networks operating under the banner of Fitna al-Khawarij in Pakistan’s tribal belt.
