The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF) carried out a targeted and planned operation in Panjshir’s Darah district, hitting a key Afghan Taliban centre and killing seventeen Taliban fighters. Five others were injured. Among the dead was the chief of staff of a battalion belonging to the Taliban Ministry of Defence Special Brigade.
The operation took place on the evening of 7 December 2025 at around six o clock and was executed in two phases. In the first phase, NRF fighters detonated pre-planted explosive devices. In the second phase, they launched coordinated rocket strikes, inflicting heavy casualties on the Taliban.
The targeted centre was located in the village of Manjistu in Abdullah Khel valley and was known as a major Taliban position. Local reports indicated that Taliban personnel stationed there frequently harassed civilians in the area. The centre was completely destroyed in the attack.
According to the NRF, none of its fighters were harmed and no civilians were injured.
The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan has claimed responsibility for the operation.
