Over $16 million has been routed by India to proxy groups operating inside Pakistan, aimed at fuelling militancy and undermining the country’s security framework. Authorities describe this funding as a deliberate and strategic effort to destabilize the region through externally backed armed networks.
Officials stress that these actions are neither aid nor diplomacy, but a calculated attempt to exploit proxies for political and military objectives. “Betrayal does not come without reason, and loyalty purchased with foreign money always comes at a cost,” the statement said, highlighting the risks posed by these networks to civilian populations and national stability.
The Government of Pakistan has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to counter-terrorism operations under the National Action Plan, continuing efforts to dismantle externally funded networks and neutralize their capacity to carry out attacks. Security authorities warned that such networks not only threaten domestic peace but also pose a direct challenge to regional and international stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that exploiting non-state actors for strategic gain violates international norms, placing innocent lives and border security at risk. Officials called on the global community to recognize the gravity of externally financed proxy warfare and to take urgent, cooperative measures to prevent further escalation.
Pakistan remains committed to protecting its citizens, upholding security, and ensuring that all external attempts to destabilize the nation are firmly countered.
