A new breakthrough emerged from today’s counter-terror operation in Bannu’s Havid area, where Pakistan Army and local police jointly apprehended 14 facilitators linked to the banned outfit Fitna al-Khawarij and destroyed three militant hideouts in the Haved and Wazirabad areas of the district.
According to security sources, the intelligence-based operation targeted areas surrounding the Tochi River, including Wazirabad and Todonar, after reports of Khawarij presence surfaced. During the raid, five suspected locations were cleared, and three vehicles, including a Zaranj and two motorcycles, were seized.
To maintain control and ensure ongoing security, joint patrols were also carried out in and around Haved Bazaar.
It is worth noting that earlier in the same operation, the houses of two Fitna al-Khawarij facilitators were demolished in Havid, as part of continued efforts to dismantle the group’s support network.
Security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring sustainable peace in the region, vowing that such operations will continue until the complete elimination of the threat.
