In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, the Pakistan Security Forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan District, targeting terrorists of the banned outfit known as Fitna al-Khawarij, the Indian proxy group operating against the state.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of heavily armed Indian-sponsored Khawarij militants in the area.
“During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the Khawarij location. As a result, 13 terrorists were sent to hell,” the ISPR confirmed.
The neutralized militants were reportedly involved in a series of terrorist activities in the region. These included the facilitation of a suicide bombing in Daraban in December 2023, as well as the abduction and targeted killing of government officials and innocent civilians.
A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment was also recovered from the site, further confirming the group’s operational readiness and intent to carry out future attacks.
The ISPR noted that a sanitization operation is currently underway in the surrounding area to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining Indian-backed Khawarij operatives.
“The Security Forces of Pakistan remain determined to eliminate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country and will continue to act against all elements involved in destabilizing peace,” the statement added.
This operation marks a significant step in the ongoing nationwide campaign to uproot terrorism and safeguard national sovereignty.
