11 Workers Abducted by Armed Men Near KP-Balochistan Border in Brazen Highway Incident

In a brazen act of lawlessness, unidentified armed men abducted 11 workers travelling from Islamabad to Balochistan near the restive border region between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, official sources confirmed  .The incident occurred on Sardargar Road near the Kakar Hotel, along the Darazinda route, where gunmen intercepted a convoy of vehicles and forcibly abducted multiple labourers at gunpoint. Initial reports suggest that the attackers seized two vehicles and took 12 to 14 workers to an unknown location.

According to Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) sources, a separate but possibly linked incident took place near the Domanda Bridge, a strategic crossing between the two provinces. Armed men intercepted three vehicles carrying a total of 16 employees. After allowing one vehicle to proceed, the assailants stopped the remaining two and abducted 11 individuals by force.

Security forces and law enforcement agencies swiftly arrived at both scenes, cordoned off the surrounding areas, and launched a search operation to trace the abductees and apprehend those responsible. The coordinated response reflects growing concern over militant activity and the deteriorating security situation in the border zones.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the abductions. Authorities are treating the case with utmost urgency, with intelligence and counter terrorism units actively investigating leads to locate the missing workers and prevent further such incidents.

The twin incidents have sparked alarm across both provinces, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced security along key inter-provincial transit routes.
