Pakistan Denies Capturing Indian Pilot After Retaliatory Strikes Down 5 Warplanes

Pakistan’s military has dismissed as fake news the widespread social media claims that an Indian Air Force pilot was captured during a retaliatory operation launched in response to Indian aggression.

In an official statement on Sunday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry categorically denied the rumour, stating, “No Indian pilot is in our custody.” The clarification follows the launch of Operation Bunyan-e-Marsoos, Pakistan’s robust military response to what it described as unprovoked Indian hostility.

The overnight operation saw Pakistan shoot down five Indian warplanes, including three Rafale jets, according to Pakistani military sources. The strikes reportedly inflicted heavy damage on Indian defence assets, with Indian officials acknowledging the losses.

Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmad of the Pakistan Air Force described the mission as a “clean sweep”, claiming a 6–0 air combat advantage in Pakistan’s favour. He criticised India’s actions as “reckless and provocative,” while praising the professionalism of the PAF.

Authorities reiterated that Pakistan’s response was purely defensive and cautioned the public against spreading misinformation that could inflame regional tensions.
