Allegations of a Pakistani missile or drone attack on Sri Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar have been proven false, as clarified by Gyani Raghubir Singh, the head Granthi of the revered Sikh shrine.
According to recent reports, India attempted to spread false propaganda during the ongoing tensions with Pakistan, with the aim of sowing discord between Pakistan and the Sikh community. Fabricated news of missile and drone attacks on Sri Darbar Sahib were allegedly used to turn Sikhs against Pakistan.
However, Gyani Raghubir Singh strongly refuted all such claims, stating:
“A senior Indian Army officer claimed that Pakistan was planning to attack Sri Darbar Sahib with missiles and drones. This is a sacred place — the very idea of an attack is unimaginable.”
He further added that no one is allowed to roam with weapons inside the Golden Temple complex, and dismissed the Indian government’s accusation against Pakistan as baseless and fabricated.
Commenting on Indian military claims of deploying air defence guns near the shrine, Gyani Raghubir Singh called them “laughable,” stating:
“From April 24 to May 14, I was in the United States. I wasn’t even present at the Darbar Sahib. Even if I were there, no such military activity would have been permitted.”
He also revealed that no Indian military or government official ever contacted him regarding such claims. He described the Indian Army Lieutenant General’s televised statement as completely false and misleading, urging a full investigation and strict action against those responsible for spreading the misinformation.
Defense Analysts Weigh In
Defense experts have said that Gyani Raghubir Singh’s statement exposes India’s repeated attempts to turn Sikhs against Pakistan through false narratives. These efforts, they said, have failed, and the Indian government’s disinformation campaign has now been publicly discredited.
They further added that the Sikh religious leader’s statement unmasks the Indian military and government’s deceitful tactics, highlighting the lengths to which they have gone to manipulate public sentiment for political gain.
