Fact Check: Anti-Pakistan Disinformation Surge Linked to RAW During Iran-Israel Conflict

Pakistan, Anti-Pakistan Disinformation, RAW & Zionist-aligned networks, Iran-Israel Conflict, Iran and Pakistan

In the aftermath of Israel’s military aggression against Iran, a wave of disinformation targeting Pakistan was unleashed on social media, a campaign that intelligence and media monitoring sources believe to be orchestrated by India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), in collaboration with Zionist-aligned networks.

The false narratives, pushed primarily through Indian-origin fake accounts and botnets, aimed to drag Pakistan into the escalating regional conflict. The propaganda effort employed AI-generated visuals, old footage, and fabricated quotes to mislead global audiences and stir diplomatic tensions.

Key False Claims Circulated:

That Pakistan provided intelligence and air cover to Iran for a potential nuclear strike on Israel.

That Pakistani fighter jets were deployed to counter an anticipated Iranian missile retaliation.

That Pakistan warned the United States it would launch a nuclear response against Israel.

That Pakistan shared Israeli target coordinates with Iranian military planners.

These baseless allegations were pushed by blue-check accounts and coordinated influencers, including:

“BRICS News” falsely reporting that “Pakistan claimed intel support to Iran.”

A fake “Islamic Republic of Iran” X (formerly Twitter) account alleging nuclear warnings from Pakistan.

“Nepal Correspondence” posting false claims about PAF jet deployments.

Indian-affiliated influencers such as @SoniaDeshwal, @SHooMit, and @Mustafa spreading a fabricated statement by Netanyahu supposedly declaring war on Pakistan.

Objective of the Propaganda:

To falsely portray Pakistan as a belligerent actor in the Iran-Israel conflict.

To damage Pakistan’s diplomatic reputation by presenting it as a nuclear aggressor.

To provoke distrust between Muslim nations, particularly Iran and Pakistan.

To justify anti-Pakistan rhetoric in Western and Israeli media spheres.

The pattern, language, and digital footprint of the campaign point toward the same RAW-backed network that has previously disseminated fake news during regional tensions, including the 2019 Balakot standoff and post-Pulwama narratives, many of which were later debunked by international fact-checkers.

Pakistan’s Position:

Pakistan has consistently reiterated its neutral stance, calling for de-escalation and peaceful dialogue amid the Middle East crisis. The Foreign Office has categorically denied any military involvement or intelligence collaboration with either side, labeling the disinformation campaign as “irresponsible, malicious, and extremely dangerous.”

Conclusion:

This recent wave of fake news is yet another attempt by anti-Pakistan actors to manipulate regional instability for geopolitical gain. The RAW-linked disinformation architecture, with support from pro-Zionist platforms, is exploiting digital platforms to spread lies, a dangerous strategy that risks inflaming tensions and undermining peace efforts in an already volatile region.
