Claims of Cross-Border Airstrikes in Nangarhar Dismissed as Baseless

Reports circulating on social media and certain unofficial outlets alleging that Pakistani airstrikes have targeted Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) training camps in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province are false, misleading, and without any credible basis.

The rumors claim that strikes were carried out in the Shinwar and Achin districts of Nangarhar following the tragic IED attack a day earlier in which nine Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom. However, authoritative sources in both Pakistan and Afghanistan have confirmed that no such air operations have taken place. No credible evidence, eyewitness reports, or official statements substantiate the claims.

Officials have categorically rejected the reports, stressing that such disinformation campaigns are designed to spread confusion, mislead the public, and create unnecessary tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan. “No strikes have been conducted across the border. The reports being circulated are completely baseless,” officials clarified.

The spread of fabricated reports, particularly through social media channels, has become a recurring tool of propaganda aimed at exploiting sensitive incidents. Experts have noted that hostile elements often attempt to amplify unverified claims in the aftermath of attacks to create mistrust and provoke instability in the region.

Authorities have urged citizens and media professionals to exercise extreme caution when encountering unverified content online. They emphasized the importance of relying on official channels and credible sources for updates, warning that the dissemination of false reports can not only misguide the public but also damage regional peace efforts.

The public has been advised to remain vigilant against disinformation campaigns and verify news through established, credible platforms before sharing it further.

Conclusion: No airstrikes “from Pakistan” have been confirmed or reported in Nangarhar. The information circulating online is entirely misleading and should be treated as fake news.
