Fake News: TTP Exaggerates D.I. Khan Attack, Police Confirm One Martyred

TTP, Police, Attack

Dera Ismail Khan – The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, known as TTP or Fitnah Al-khwarij as declared by the state, has claimed responsibility for an attack on a police vehicle in the Daraban district on Friday, alleging they killed three officers and injured another. However, senior police officials have refuted the militant group’s claims as exaggerated and misleading.

According to official sources, the attack did occur, resulting in the martyrdom of one police personnel and injuries to three others. The TTP also claimed to have seized a Kalashnikov rifle and other equipment from the site, though this remains unverified.

Police authorities have urged the public and media to avoid spreading unverified militant propaganda, emphasising that such tactics are aimed at sowing fear and distorting the facts on the ground.

This incident comes amid a rise in militant activities, with the TTP expanding its operations beyond Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and increasingly targeting law enforcement agencies across the country.
